State of Mississippi
Division of Medicaid
Evaluation led by HCRS president helps Mississippi Division of Medicaid optimize data collection to improve service to 605,000 low-income state residents.
Situation Analysis
HCRS was tasked to support the State of Mississippi’s Division of Medicaid Program Integrity Risk Assessment Program Evaluation Project. Mississippi Medicaid serves a racially and ethnically diverse population of 605,000 low-income Mississippi residents.
Solution
Through in-person interviews with clinical staff and management of the Medicaid Office of Program Integrity (OPI) and document reviews, HCRS was able to analyze and evaluate OPI’s management dynamics and structure. Our analysis included evaluation of working relationships with key entities inside and outside the Division of Medicaid.
Findings were presented in a formal written report to the director of the Division of Medicaid. Our report included specific short- and long-term recommendations to optimize OPI’s management structure for improved program function and goal achievement.
